Deputy Stage Manager on Ballet Nights, a fast-paced mixed programme requiring a flexible approach to cueing across ballet, opera, and chamber music. Built and delivered within a 12-hour turnaround, each act brought its own musical language and working method.

I called performances across a varied programme, working from both classical scores and contemporary, track-based material. The role required a shift in approach between tightly structured operatic phrasing and more fluid, performer-led timing, adapting cueing methods to suit each piece.

Responding to performers’ phrasing and musical interpretation in the moment was key to maintaining alignment without over-directing the work. This allowed for clear transitions between contrasting pieces and a consistent sense of flow across the programme, despite limited preparation time.
